Newborn Photography Costs in Singapore
Newborn photography in Singapore typically costs between $300 and $1,500 or more, depending on the photographer’s experience, session length, the number of edited images, and whether albums or prints are included. Most established studios sit between $450 and $800 for a full session.
Our newborn sessions at Orange Studios start at SGD 650. We are not the cheapest in Singapore, and we are not the most expensive. We have photographed newborns since 2013, and we handle your family with care. That is the trade we offer, and this guide explains where $650 sits in the wider market so you can decide for yourself.
Frequently Asked Questions About Newborn Photography Costs
What is the average cost of newborn photography in Singapore?
Most parents pay between $450 and $800 for a newborn session in Singapore in 2026. High-volume studios and mini sessions run from around $330. Premium packages with albums, wall art and elaborate multi-setup sessions go from $800 to $1,500 and beyond.
| Price band | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Under $450 | High-volume studios and mini sessions. Shorter slots, set formats, fewer edited images. Efficient, and it shows in the pace. |
| $450 – $800 | Established independent studios, often owner-photographers. Longer sessions, more settling time, more say in how the session runs. Orange Studios sits here at SGD 650. |
| $800 – $1,500+ | Premium packages. Multiple elaborate setups, albums or wall art bundled in, sometimes a larger team. |
The price difference is mostly a difference in business model, not a ranking of skill. A $330 studio runs more sessions per day. A $1,200 package is bundling physical products into the fee. What you are choosing is how much time, attention and flexibility you want around your baby.
What’s typically included in newborn photography packages?
A full newborn package in Singapore normally covers a 2 to 3 hour session, several setups, professionally edited high-resolution images, and an online gallery with printing rights. Feeding and settling breaks are part of the session, because a newborn sets the pace, not the clock.
At Orange Studios, your SGD 650 session runs 2 to 3 hours, in our Ubi studio or at your home. A trained spotter stays beside your baby for every posed shot, and we never force a pose. Your edited gallery is delivered within 2 weeks. Message us on WhatsApp at +65 8606 6950 and we will send you the current package sheet with the full inclusions.
Why is newborn photography more expensive than regular photography?
Because you are paying for time and safe handling, not just photos. A newborn session runs 2 to 3 hours where a normal portrait session takes one. Babies need feeding, burping, settling and the occasional full outfit change for everyone involved. And posing a 7-day-old safely is a skill built over years, not something read off a checklist.
Editing takes longer too. Newborn skin is blotchy and flaky in the first two weeks. It is completely normal, and it is also why each image needs careful individual retouching.
How many photos should I expect to receive?
Most Singapore newborn packages deliver between 20 and 60 edited images, and many studios charge extra beyond that. Orange Studios works differently: every package includes all your edited images in full resolution. No caps, no per-image top-ups, no choosing 30 favourites from a locked gallery.
We cull the blinks and duplicates, then Ryan edits every keeper individually. The full gallery arrives within 2 weeks with printing rights included.
Are prints and albums included or do they cost extra?
Most Singapore studios, ours included, price digital files first and offer prints separately. Market rates for print products run roughly $10 to $50 for photo prints, $80 to $300 for canvas, and $200 to $600 for albums.
We show you print options after you have seen your gallery, and only if you want them. One dad put it plainly in his Google review: Ryan is “not your average pushy salesman”. You decide what goes on your wall, in your own time.
How do deposits and payment work?
At Orange Studios, a 50% deposit books your slot, paid by PayNow or bank transfer. The remaining 50% is paid after the session, also by PayNow or bank transfer. That is the whole structure. No card surcharges, no hidden admin fees, nothing added on the day.
Because newborn timing follows your baby and not the calendar, the deposit secures a flexible window around your due date rather than one fixed day.
What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We do not charge a reschedule fee. Babies arrive early, babies arrive late, older kids fall sick on the morning of the session, and work sometimes refuses to wait. We understand, because after 500 newborns we have seen all of it. Just message us and we will move your session, and your deposit moves with it.
Can we book maternity and newborn together?
Yes, and many of our families do. Maternity starts from SGD 399, best taken at 28 to 36 weeks, and newborn from SGD 650 at days 5 to 14. Booking both with us means the same photographer, the same style, and one less thing to arrange after the baby arrives. Message us on WhatsApp with your EDD and we will plan both sessions around it.
What if our baby arrives early or late?
We book newborn sessions against your estimated due date, then confirm the actual date once your baby is born. Best results come at days 5 to 14, when babies sleep deeply and curl naturally. If your baby arrives at 36 weeks or hangs on until 42, the session simply shifts with them, at no charge. And if baby is past 3 weeks by the time you reach us, we adjust the style rather than turn you away. Our guide on the best time for a newborn photoshoot covers this in detail.
Is newborn photography really worth the investment?
Here is what Ryan tells parents in the studio. You will still remember how your child looks as he or she grows older. But this stage cannot be reversed. They are so precious when they are this small, and years from now you will look back at these photos the way we look back at our own child’s newborn days.
A number of our families compared several studios before choosing, and some tried elsewhere first and came back to us for the next child. We would rather you compare properly than book on impulse. Read our guide to newborn photography safety too, because at this age, how a studio handles your baby matters more than how it prices the session.
