Welcoming Baby with Raw, Real Emotion
There are few moments in life as life-changing as the first 48 hours after welcoming your baby into the world. Those first yawns, tiny fingers gripping yours, and sleepy snuggles in the hospital room are moments you’ll never want to forget. That’s where Fresh 48 photography comes in.
At Orange Studios, we offer Fresh 48 sessions designed specifically to capture these early, unfiltered, and emotional memories—without the pressure of a formal newborn shoot.
What Is Fresh 48 Photography?
Fresh 48 is a special session done within the first 24–48 hours of your baby’s arrival, often while you’re still at the hospital or confinement centre. Unlike a traditional newborn shoot, which is typically posed and done days or weeks after birth, Fresh 48 focuses on natural, documentary-style moments:
- First cuddles between baby and parents
- Siblings meeting baby for the first time
- Hospital bassinet moments
- Tiny toes, fingers, and wrinkly newborn skin
The idea is to freeze this raw, emotional window in time before everything starts to blur together.

Why Parents in Singapore Love It
- It’s real and emotional
There’s something beautifully imperfect about the hospital setting, the sleepy smiles, and the genuine awe of new parenthood. Fresh 48 photos aren’t about perfection—they’re about connection. - Minimal effort for you
There’s no need to pack outfits or prep for hours. We come to you, and work around your schedule and comfort level. Our sessions are gentle, quiet, and stress-free. - Perfect complement to a newborn shoot
Many of our clients book both a Fresh 48 and a posed newborn session. This way, they get the best of both worlds: raw emotion + timeless portraits.
How to Prepare for a Fresh 48 Session
- Let us know your due date: We only take a limited number of Fresh 48 bookings per month to stay flexible. Reach out early so we can block out time around your EDD.
- Hospital clearance: Check if your hospital allows photographers or guests post-delivery. Most private hospitals in Singapore do, but it’s good to confirm. You can visit KKH’s visitor guidelines or Mount Alvernia’s maternity services to get a feel for the process.
- Pack something meaningful: A special swaddle, a handwritten note, or a first onesie can add a personal touch to your photos.
A Note from Orange Studios
As parents ourselves, we understand how fast those first hours disappear. Our goal is to gently step in during this sacred time and preserve memories you’ll cherish forever. There’s no posing, no pressure—just honest moments of love.
