Photographing 15-day-old Baby Sonja was an absolute joy. From the moment we began, she had us smiling with her adorable, expressive faces. She was so full of character and gave us a new look in almost every shot—truly one of the most expressive newborns we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing!
As many newborn photographers will tell you, we often prefer sleepy babies for their peaceful poses. Sleepy newborns tend to be easier to photograph as they’re more relaxed and don’t fuss much during positioning.
However, awake babies like Sonja are a different kind of magic. While it can be a bit trickier to work with a wide-eyed newborn, they offer something special—a chance to capture their unique personalities. Sonja was wide awake throughout her session and gave us a variety of expressions that really made her portraits come to life. It was a pleasure to see her so engaged and curious, and we’re so happy we could capture that spirit.
