Recently I had the chance to try out the Lomography Petzval 58 lens. Let’s have a look at the items which come in the box:
First impressions of the Petzval 58: It feels solid and heavy and has a very smooth control ring to adjust the bokeh effect.
One thing I dislike about it though, is the aperture blade. It keeps falling off and I have to physically hold it to prevent it from falling off – poor design here.
The bokeh dial goes from 1-7. I always shoot at f1.9 and dial it until 7 to achieve the full effect of the lens.
